I have a intel q6600 cpu quad at 2,4 ghz, 2gb ram, 512 video board (gt8500) 1x160gb hdd, 1x250gb hdd. I am wondering about the cpu – do you need a special cpu to run mac on, or is a standard one good too? Oh, and by the way — Mac OS X is the Macintosh operating system right?Submited by:Cristi Ardelean

If I were to build an Apple computer, what parts would i need to get directly from Apple, and what could I use that isn’t from Apple?
For example, would I need to buy an Apple Processor, and Graphics Card, and Motherboard, and all that stuff? Or, is it possible to build an Apple computer with little or no parts from apple?

I get my work bonus next month and I want the Windows 7 Family pack so I can upgrade my laptop and my 2 towers from the aweful vista they came with.
