What is the best and simple way to seal the windows and doors for an airconditioned room?

Posted by dodatki | Posted in Do It Yourself (DIY) | Posted on 03-04-2010

As we have an air conditioner in our room that has three doors and two windows, much of the cool air is leaked through the gaps b/w windows and their frames and from between doors and its frames. Please tell me how can I do something that will help prevent these air leaks?

N.B. The air conditioner is split type.Submited by:Muhammad Ali

How to reduce heat from windows in summer?

Is there a product or process(other than blinds or drapes) for reducing heat coming into my southwest home exposure. The light comes through 2 sliding doors & 8 windows and it gets hot in the afternoon. I want that same heat, however, in the colder months. A canopy or awning and window replacement is also out of the question. Is there window tinting?

What can I use to cover up the windows in my basement?

Posted by dodatki | Posted in Do It Yourself (DIY) | Posted on 13-10-2009

I sleep in the basement, but I have a hard time sleeping because lights from cars going by all night shine through the windows into my eyes.
I would rather avoid buying drapes or curtains, which take a lot of time and money to install.
Instead, does anyone know any product that covers windows that you can just put on them, like some kind of adhesive substance?Submited by:STILL standing

Does anyone have any good weatherization tips for foggy windows?

My windows are single pane older trailer style windows. They do have two windows but each pane is about four inches between. They get moisture on the outer windows inside in the winter and then freeze over leaving them all foggy and icy. Is there anything I can do to prevent this from happening this year? I plan to cover them over with the plastic that you put on with double sided tape and a hair dryer. I’m looking for a solution that might treat it for the wh ole winter. If you have any good tips I would appreciate it. Thanks a lot.
