How to open windows that have been painted shut?

The storm windows were removed, the windows were painted shut and now the storm windows are back on. Therefore; not allowing me direct access to the painted window. How would you suggest I open the windows without removing the storm windows, if at all possible?
Because the storm windows are on the outside and closed, I can’t access the painted side of the window. Is there another way to open the window without having to remove the storm windows in order to get to the edges that i need to cut.

How much is the plastic you put over windows during the winter?
Posted by dodatki | Posted in Maintenance & Repairs | Posted on 01-11-2009
I’m renting a house and the house is terrible. I pay $475 a month for windows that are closed but you would never know it, box air conditioner that lets in cold air of course, and a door that wasn’t put in right that lets in more cold air. Our heating bill, as you can imagine, is outrageous.
How much is plastic that you put over windows? Can you buy something for the door frame?Submited by:Poppy
How much do double pane windows cost?
Posted by dodatki | Posted in Maintenance & Repairs | Posted on 24-10-2009
I want to replace my single pane windows with double pane windows. The windows open at the bottom and slide up. The house is old (built in late 1800s) and is wood frame. I am ok with using vinyl windows. Probably the sashes would need to be replaced as well since some of the pulleys that keep the windows open don’t work anymore. Can any one give me a rough estimate of the cost of the windows and the cost of labor to install them?

My current basement windows are much smaller. My house was built in 1900 so my basement/foundation walls are brick.

Is it bad to leave your windows open on very warm humid days for wood floors?

I have wood floors on the main level… on hot humid days I leave the windows open and even overnight… I’m wondering if this is why the wood floors on my main level feel so sticky? What is it about the humidity that puts a film of stick on these floors? Anyway to get around this without having to close the windows? I like fresh air!
