Does anyone know where I can look for tiger salamanders?

somegirlsomewhere asked:

I love salamander watching, and I can find many of them by lifting up logs, or if I’m in the Applachians, in creeks and streams. But where do I look for tiger salamanders? I keep hearing they’re so common but I never see them. And I spend a lot of time outdoors. I saw a dead one once that got hit by a lawn mower but that’s it.

I’ve had this caterpillar for about a week and a half, I’m almost positive that he is a virgin tiger moth. He’s been eating basil and now he is in a cocoon, how long will it take for him to hatch from the cocoon? Just an approximation would be great!

This whole wild tiger thing really has me freaked out. All my friends are saying that it has something to do with a mutated gene in cat species. I don’t wanna sound like a baby but if I go to the zoo or a friends house who has cats/tigers, what can i do to be safe? Thanks

How can a tiger possibly kill an elephant?

Recently in India, there was a fight between an 850 lbs tiger and a 11,000 lbs elephant. Even though the elephant outweighed the tiger by more than 11 times, it still ended up being killed by that unbelievable tiger. How on earth is that possible?

What are your opinions about the zoo tiger who attacked the 3 boys?

Posted by dodatki | Posted in Zoology | Posted on 05-12-2009

Nick T asked:

I am personally disgusted by the boys actions and I am disappointed that the zoo had a low fence. But still, the tiger was under super adrenaline, and if a parent can lift up a car to save a kid, I don’t think jumping a fence would be much of a problem for a tiger that is angry. The only one that is not at blame is the poor tiger. What are your opinions on this issue?

Why tiger always likes to attack the neck when it fights?

Posted by dodatki | Posted in Zoology | Posted on 03-12-2009

The zoo tiger, Tatiana who killed the 17 year old teenager went for the neck of the 17 year old. The tiger slashed the neck and opened the throat of the 17 year old…killing him instantly on the spot.

Why these tigers always go for the neck when fighting with human or animal?

How do these beasts know that going for the neck is the most effective way of killing, since they have no intelligence?
