How can I get windows XP to recognize a USB drive or a CD during installation?

Recently my floppy drive died. The only thing I use the floppy for is installing the ATA133 drivers (so windows can see the hard drive) if I have to reinstall windows.
The Windows XP Pro disk that I own is the original release and does not have any of the service packs on it; so during the install the only option that I see is to insert a floppy disk. Is there a way to get the installation to recognize a flash drive or a CD?Submited by:kerianhal

I think Nope. XP kind of sucks that way. It ONLY recognizes drivers on floppy disks during installation. The only alternative would be to slipstream the service packs and drivers onto a copy of XP. Use this free program called nLite for that. (WARNING: Not easy for novices)
My windows came with a CD and when my windows crashed I was able to just reset everything. But everything got deleted. if you need ur computer to read floppy disks you might have to replace the floppy drive or better yet just buy a new computer if the windows program fails.
. If your comp is still working you go into Setup (F2 or F11 -one is Setup the other is BIOS – as the comp is starting) and change the first boot device from HDD to CD. Your comp should then look for the CD first.
