Can anyone recommend a good free flashcard program or alternative for Mac OS X?

I’m studying for final exams, and I’ve got a few thousand Latin root words and French conjugations to review. So many to have to write out by hand!

I’d love a flexible program that let me switch between the root and its conjugation, meaning, etc., and review the ones I missed until I get them right. I definitely don’t need a fancy one. But I know that since I’m broke I mustn’t be too picky.

Anything that works on OS X and somehow let me review the words would be great, so please list anything you’ve heard of or tried and what you think of it. Thanks!
Availability of freeware has absolutely nothing to do with the quality of a platform. Serious answers only, please.

I have a Apple powerbook computer that has had its Hard drive replaced because it crashed. The problem is that I do not have the original restore disks that came with the computer. I am considering buying the new OS X software… but does that come with the basics like imovie, iphoto, itunes, ect. and other applications? Answer If you know please.

By request, here is when Steve Jobs introduced Mac OS X for the first time ever. I edited the video myself to show the very best moments of the presentation & split it up into 3 parts on account of youtube’s bogus time limit.Submited by:peestandingup

I have a Mac OS X operating system. Every time I view a Microsoft document, (word, excel, ppt) it places a copy of the document on my desktop. Is there a preference that I can turn this off? It really crowds up my desktop when I am viewing several documents off the internet or through my email.
